The Icon of the Virgin Mary Pantanassa (Queen of All) from Vatopedi Monastery
Historical Background

The small portable icon of the Virgin Mary, known as Pantanassa, is situated in a wooden case on the left side of the main church of Vatopedi Monastery.
Initially located in the New Skete under Agiou Pavlou Monastery, the icon was transferred to Vatopedi Monastery by Elder Joseph in 1987.
Miracles Associated
The first miracle of the icon involves a young man engaged in magic. Upon entering the church and attempting to bow before the icon, he was struck down by an unknown force. Following this event, he repented and forever changed his lifestyle. The icon is also known for numerous miraculous healings of cancer patients.
Global Presence
Today, Vatopedi Monastery has thousands of accounts of healings from this miraculous image. There isn't a single cancer center in the world that doesn't have a replica of the Virgin Mary Pantanassa.
